The Campaign for the Future of Higher Education will be launched on May 17, 2011.
On the 57th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision Brown vs. Board of Education (1954), faculty members from across the country will gather in Washington DC on Tuesday, May 17 to launch the Campaign for the Future of Higher Education.
A – To guarantee that affordable quality higher education is accessible to all sectors of our society in the coming decades, and
B – To include the voices of the faculty, students and our communities—not just administrators, politicians, foundations and think tanks—in the process of making change to ensure that the emphasis, curriculum, pricing, and structure of our nation’s higher education systems are good for our students and the quality of education they receive.
What is at stake is nothing less than our democracy and our economic standing in the global economy.
“Attend” the Launch:
- On campuses across the nation, faculty groups will hold “Watching Parties” to view the webcast of the news conference in DC, and send questions to the panelists. Detailed information about where to attend a watching party is available here.
